Crutching and Philadelphia
Holla! I hope your weekend served you well. I had a great one with one minor exception. I was at my usual Saturday morning body combat class, throwing punches and kicking the air like Jackie Chan on crack. This is how I roll.
I was enjoying a rare class with one of my favorite instructors who is like never there on a Saturday…she rocks…and something bad happened. I was doing a high jump and when I came down…all I heard was a nasty pop… it kind of sounded like a rubber band snapping.
Not good…the minute I attempted to put weight on my right knee, a shooting pain ripped up my body…so I limped over to the corner of the room and just kind of slide down the wall with my leg out. All the while ..Rho is first thinking I just fell or something until she sees my twisted face mouthing the words…shit…shit…over and over again while pointing to my knee. She called in back-up and within seconds I had three trainers around me…I felt like a moron…a moron in serious pain.
So four hours later, I walked out of the ER with a big ole leg immobilizer and instructions to get an MRI, which I will be doing this week. Fun…not. At least I didn’t get crutches. Funny story about crutches…when I was in U CONN and was lunching with some athletes, the one was on crutches and she managed to turn that word into a verb, which I just thought was so athletic of her and funny as hell. Instead of walking, she now crutches wherever she goes. Thank god I am not crutching…
Anyway, onto the purpose of the post…I will be in Philadelphia next week!!! Holla! I know it is like the last week of classes and everyone is all antsy but come check out my lecture on Monday night or drop in at the Barnes and Noble on Tuesday night. I will be there with bells on…and umm, a leg immobilizer L

what can i say… “crutching”…. its quite catching isn’t it?! actually think they bringing it to the Olympics soon… i’ve got my marathon round campus down to about 10 minutes; so i’m thinking i might start challenging everyone i see along the street sporting these sweet rides (referring to the lovely metal accessories) …
hope everything goes well for you. and like sarah said, anytime you are in New England and want to have dinner/breakfast or breakfast for dinner… hit us up.
