How often does one have the opportunity to come face-to-face with those we have emotionally harmed in our lifetimes or just those people that we need to say I am sorry too? In my opinion, probably not often enough. This weekend was amazing for me personally. I had a book signing at the Lehigh Valley Mall in my hometown-basically the setting of the entire book. I was nervous as I always am about heading back to my old stomping grounds and this trip was especially nerve racking as there was a wonderful article that had run in the paper with my mug on it announcing my arrival. I had no idea what and who to expect. Read On

In my humble opinion Tim Russert was one of the best journalists this country has ever seen. His integrity, honesty, balance, justice and passion for America and our political system is unmatched. In every interview he ever did you never knew which side he was on, which is a true reflection of the journalism this country should have and needs. He only favored Buffalo and his love of his father and son. Â
He will be sorely missed…I cannot even begin to imagine what the political landscape will look like without him.  I don’t want to turn on the election coverage and know that he won’t be there with his smile and his highly intelligent take on the game.Â
Â
So very sad…future journalists in universities and colleges all across our country need to yield to the example he set.Â

We checked into our hotel on Saturday or Memorial Day weekend and the place was crawling with young Hollywood types everywhere. We were given neon wrist bands at the front desk for the pool party that would be taking place all night both that day and the next. I knew I was in for some trouble already. I had no idea our hotel was such a haven for partying. I would never have booked it. My partner and I went to bed at our usual time of 8:30 pm, I know, I know, but hey in recovery I am a morning girl now. Long gone are the days of the all-nighter for me, I am a 5:30 am wake-up girl now!

The thought of spending seven days in California was an absolute delight. My baby (Roma, for future reference) and I were so excited as we share a common love of all things celebrity. Part of it is normal fascination of the lifestyles of the rich and famous and the other part is more of our yet to be lived dreams, hers of being a rock start and mine, well writer/actor would do just fine. Our Saturday mornings begin with a mutual pouring over the pages of People Magazine, her sipping tea and me slamming down my strong as hell Starbucks coffee. We scan each page checking out new places to log in our travel celebrity stalker files for any upcoming trips. With LA being the next stop of the book tour, the celebrity capital of the world; we had been doing some major research. Read On

I was out in Los Angeles for a week for the book and it was fantastic! I took a break from writing and had no internet…I know, can you imagine…I even took a couple blackberry breaks. And while I vibrated in withdrawal a little and felt an odd sensation in my right hand like something was missing the whole time; I did survive. I am so addicted to my “crackberry” that a little necessary detox was long overdue…
