Veggie delight in Philly and Miley Cyrus

I have returned from my travels in Philadelphia. It was a great trip and I must say that I think I single handedly revitalized the city's economy. Seriously, the mayor should give me like a certificate or something. I went a little crazy but it was way fun! I miss the big city environment if not simply for the wonderful vegetarian and vegan options at so many restaurants…

Crutching and Philadelphia

Holla! I hope your weekend served you well. I had a great one with one minor exception. I was at my usual Saturday morning body combat class, throwing punches and kicking the air like Jackie Chan on crack. This is how I roll…

UCONN ATHLETICS ROCK MY WORLD!

Oh I said it and I know yes, technically, I am a Penn State Alumni and I am not deterring from my duties as a respectfully proud alumni...in fact I invoked Dear Old State multiple times and paid homage to my alma mater. However, I must give props where props are due and University of Connecticut was nothing but good times!!

Thank you central PA!

Wow, is all I can say about my first book signing at Barnes and Noble! I am so grateful for all of you who came out to hear me speak and to purchase my book. I couldn't believe every time I looked up how many more faces I saw in the crowd. You were a beautiful group of people and so encouraging for me as the author!

Radio, TV and American Idol

Happy Friday Everyone! I totally missed American Idol last night and am so bummed to hear that Alexandrea got kicked off! I loved her!!! So unfair. I was in the WITF-TV studio doing the Smart Talk program instead, which was great. I had to laugh when I realized they had the first half hour dedicated to the electric company and then had me on talking about the book…

There is no such thing as an accidental overdose

Ike Turner, Brad Refeno and now Heath Ledger...sad...tragic....unthinkable... To call any one of these deaths an accidental overdose flies directly in the face of the reality of addiction. As a recovering addict for more than ten years, I can tell you there is nothing accidental about an addict's choice to overmedicate. It is in fact the inherent nature of the disease…
